“Are the grounds suitable for marquees”
We are happy for you to invite up to 8 extra guests free of charge (20 including residents).
Groups of more than 20 guests are rated as a function for which there is an additional charge.
We have a maximum capacity of 40 guests, including residents, with free onsite parking for up to 15 vehicles.
The grounds are not suitable for marquees.
“Do you have real log fires?”
Great Tangley is a 1,000 year old timber-framed building so we are unable to have any naked flames within the house in line with our insurance policy.
We have modern heating systems that keep the house at a constant temperature throughout the year.
“Can I use my own caterers?”
Yes we are happy for you to use your own caterers.
We charge £100 inventory fee for this option. Please let us have you caterers contact details, as other guests may like to use them in the future.
“Can you recommend any local caterers?”
We have a selection of highly recommended local caterers featured on our Food and drink page.
“Do you rent the rooms out individually?”
The house is let as a whole for groups of 1-12 guests (5 bedrooms), not on a room-by-room basis.
“Can I have a function at Great Tangley Manor?”
Due to the age of the property, the English climate and shared access we are unable to hold large functions at Great Tangley.
We offer Great Tangley as a function venue 5 times a year for which we have a maximum capacity of 40 guests, with parking for up to 15 cars.
There is an additional function hire fee to cover additional wear and tear to the house, grounds and driveways.

“Is Great Tangley suitable for children/families?”
We regularly host family occasions and the house is suitable for all age ranges. Children do need to be supervised when in the grounds because of the unfenced pond, moat and lake.
Two of the bedrooms are on the Ground Floor so are ideal for those not so keen on stairs!! Please see our floor plan for the layout of the house.
