Start Your Motors! Top Gear Track Plays Host To Waverley Pope vs. Tesla X Showdown
The ‘Top Gear’ track in Dunsfold has provided us with some peculiar sights over the years – Lionel Richie driving a clapped out motor home, Sir Michael Gambon nearly flipping a Suzuki Liana on the final bend – but debatably this race trumps them all.
In 2017, our very own Glyn Powell-Evans decided to pit his pride and joy – a 1906 Waverley Pope – against a 2017 Tesla X electric car.
To put this in perspective, the Waverley Pope, first produced in the USA in 1896, has a top speed of 16 miles per hour, while the Tesla has been known to hit speeds as high as 155 miles per hour. All the best Glyn!
Keep an eye on our blog for more pictures/videos of the Pope and information on how you can charge your own electric car at Great Tangley Manor!
